Annual subs must be paid no later than August 31st each year to maintain current membership.

To renew your membership, please complete the form at the link below and make your payment by internet banking as outlined on the form. You may also renew at club night or by mail.

Membership year is 1st of June to 31st of May and renewals must be paid no later than 31st of August each year.

 

Initially established in 1975, Hutt Valley Angling Club became an incorporated society in 1994

 

Club Objectives

To establish, maintain and conduct a Club for the encouragement and promotion of recreational freshwater angling and all related activities.

In fulfilment of the above objective, to promote, protect and enhance by all means possible, the interests of Recreational Freshwater Anglers taking into account at all times that the resource must be preserved for the benefit of present and future generations.

About Hutt Valley Angling Club

 

We are a small club with current membership numbers of around 60. All visitors are warmly welcomed.  You can contact a committee member or just come to one of our meetings, meet our members and experience the night for yourself.  We would be glad to see you.

 

The club's primary aim is to promote the fun of Freshwater Trout Fishing and all relevant activities including:

 

  • Opportunity to learn new skills and share knowledge with other anglers.

  • Access to a comprehensive library with over 100 books and videos.

  • The use of club owned fly fishing equipment until you decide to purchase your own gear.

  • Guidance from club members on the art of fly fishing.

  • Coaching for fly casting and fly tying skills through experienced club members.

  • The fishing buddy group, where new members are buddied up with more experienced members for a fishing outing.

  • Club organised trips to North Island fishing destinations.

  • Up to date information for members on this website including club activities, news & views, articles, tall tales, product reviews, trip reports, fly fishing tips, and more.

  • Regular communications with the Wellington Fish & Game Council expressing the views and concerns of members in regard to fishing issues.

 

Club meetings are held on the second Monday of each month as well as many other events designed to assist members to develop in the art of fly fishing and meet with other members. These include casting clinics, club trips, fly tying, competitions and other events including workshops.

Annual General Meeting

 

Our AGM is held within our club meeting each June including the election of officers and committee. The club is governed by an elected management team directed by the club constitution. A copy of the constitution can be downloaded below.

Club Trophy Holders

 

Each year at our AGM we award a number of trophies, you can click below to see our current trophy holders.

Subscriptions if you join the club part way through the year

  • New members joining the club before the end of November shall pay the full yearly subscription rate. Adult $40, Superannuitant $30, Family $50 & Junior (under 18) $15

  • New members joining in December Adult $35, Superannuitant $25, Family $45 & Junior (under 18) $10

  • New members joining in January Adult $30, Superannuitant $20, Family $40 & Junior (under 18) $5

  • New members joining in February Adult $25, Superannuitant $15, Family $35 & Junior (under 18) Free

  • New members joining in March Adult $20, Superannuitant $10, Family $30 & Junior (under 18) Free

  • New members joining after the first day in April and before the last day in May shall pay a full year's subscription and shall have that subscription credited to the following financial year.
