Robin passed away peacefully on 18 September 2019 after a battle with cancer. He was a real club stalwart. A valued member of the club & committee he was our "canary in the coalmine" when it came to many of the decisions the committee made. He was also involved with club founder and life member Keith Tourell in putting together a lot of the casting material the club produced and was always willing to help out at workshops. He was always fun to have on club trips. He will be missed.
There was a good turnout of members at Robin's funeral and we shared in many of the family's fond memories of him. The funeral had many lighter moments which was a reflection of Robin's character. All present were asked to sing along to one of Robin's favourite songs, The Gambler by Kenny Rogers and one of the family's memories of Robin was his use of the word crap as in this is crap, that is crap. His coffin was a plain one with family and close friends writing messages on it. The coffin was borne out of the service by family wearing Robin's favourite caps and dancing as they went out to the song "Rockin' Robin".
RIP Robin and thanks for everything.
